CONGRATULATIONS TO BELFAST TOASTMASTERS! In honour of 85 years of Toastmasters, Northern Ireland opened up its FIFTH Club within the Province. Belfast Toastmasters Club had its first Demonstration meeting early in 2010 and after only three meetings, has chartered! Thanks to the support of many Hillsborough Speakers Club members, this budding Club was given the guidance and support any new Club needs. Both the President of Hillsborough, David Logan, and the President of Belfast, Kerena Crowe need a special mention, thanks to all the hard work they have put in behind the scenes to make both Clubs the success that they are! Happy Birthday Toastmasters International!
Here in Hillsborough Speakers Club, we 'learn by doing'. Whether you are a professional, student, stay-at-home parent or retiree, Toastmasters is the most efficient, enjoyable and affordable way of gaining great communication skills. By learning to effectively formulate and express your ideas, you open an entirely new world of possibilities. You’ll be more persuasive and confident when giving presentations, and you’ll improve your one-on-one dealings with others.
How does it work?
Everyone in a Toastmasters club was once at the level you are now. The environment is
friendly, supportive, and the
self-paced program allows you to build confidence with each speaking assignment. Constructive evaluation is the heart of the Toastmasters program, with Evaluatiors for each Stage Speech. At first you’ll be applauded for your effort; later you’ll be applauded for your skill.
So what do you do next?
Just come and visit! We meet twice a month (every second and fourth Wednesday) at 7.30pm in the Village Centre, Hillsborough .
You won't regret it- Toastmasters has currently more than 200,000 members in 80 countries. (see our membership information page.)
